Ruth Vafek

Description of Practice

Prior to becoming a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, the legal practice of Ausley McMullen shareholder Ruth Vafek included both litigation and appeals, up to the SCOTUS level, and transactional work. This multi-faceted approach has given her deep insights into creative and pragmatic ways to resolve and prevent disputes, and the ability to view complex matters from multiple perspectives. With a background in intellectual property and employment practice, she masters technical issues quickly, allowing her to focus on the dispute at issue.

Ruth also has unusually extensive experience outside of the legal field, which serves her well in understanding the needs and motivations of parties in conflict. Before becoming a lawyer, Ruth worked in the federal government; as an HR consultant for a closely-held technology company in Silicon Valley; as a writing tutor; and on both sides of the house in the restaurant industry. These experiences augment her ability to advise clients with tact and a focus on practical solutions.
