I'm a licensed California attorney-mediator serving clients statewide, fully remote, helping both spouses reach a fair settlement. Beyond mediation, I also offer collaborative divorce representation and consulting attorney services for clients who want legal guidance without a courtroom battle. Divorce is hard enough without adding a fight to it.

I earned my J.D. from NYU School of Law, where I was named a Presidential Scholar, and began my legal career at WilmerHale, working on complex litigation matters in the firm's white collar defense practice. After several years in that world, I moved into family law, working alongside established Los Angeles family law attorneys before founding my own practice focused exclusively on mediation.

I'm a member of the California State Bar (No. 261376) and have done pro bono family law work through the Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, which serves low-income clients navigating divorce and custody matters. That experience, combined with my litigation background, shapes how I approach mediation: I understand what's at stake in a divorce case legally, and I also understand why most couples are far better served resolving it outside of court.

Today my practice, Amicable-ish Divorce, is fully remote and serves clients throughout California, offering flat-fee mediation, collaborative divorce representation, and consulting attorney services. I completed a 40-hour mediation training program to formally ground my practice in mediation theory and technique, building on years of prior experience navigating settlement negotiations as a litigation attorney. Since founding Amicable-ish Divorce, I've mediated divorce cases directly and served as a consulting attorney to spouses working through mediation with other neutrals, giving me perspective on the process from both sides of the table.

My approach draws heavily on my background in complex litigation, where the stakes of getting an agreement wrong were high and the value of a clean, well-drafted resolution was obvious. I bring that same rigor to mediation, while keeping the process itself calm, collaborative, and focused on what actually matters to each family.

Abordagem & Filosofia de Mediação

I believe mediation should reflect what divorce actually is: hard, but not necessarily a war. My approach centers on treating both spouses as equally deserving of a fair, informed process — I don't take sides, and I won't let mediation become a tool for one spouse to steamroll the other into an agreement that isn't genuinely fair. I bring a litigation background into the room, which means I understand exactly what's at stake legally and where the pressure points in a divorce case tend to be. But I use that knowledge to help couples avoid a courtroom fight, not to create one. My goal in every session is to keep the focus on problem-solving rather than positioning, and to help both spouses reach an agreement that actually holds up — legally and practically — for the years ahead. That said, I'm honest about the limits of mediation. It isn't the right fit for every case. Where there's a significant power imbalance, a history of domestic violence, or a level of conflict that makes genuine cooperation unlikely, I'll say so rather than push a process that isn't going to serve the people in front of me.

Valores

I offer transparent, flat-fee mediation packages so clients always know their total cost upfront — no billable-hour surprises. Court filing fees are separate and not included in any package. Simple Divorce Package — $3,000: Up to 5 hours of mediation sessions, plus a completed marital settlement agreement and all required California court filings. Best suited for couples who are largely aligned and mainly need guidance and paperwork. Couples Without Children — $6,500: Unlimited mediation sessions over 3 months (up to one 2-hour session per week), plus a marital settlement agreement and all California court filings. Couples With Children — $8,500: Unlimited mediation sessions over 4 months (up to one 2-hour session per week), plus a marital settlement agreement — including a parenting plan — and all California court filings. I also offer hourly mediation for cases that don't fit neatly into a package, one-on-one divorce coaching, and hourly consulting attorney services for clients who are mediating elsewhere or negotiating directly and want independent legal advice along the way.
