Description of Practice

As a Commercial Mediator John's claim to fame is his ability to resolve most matters in a half-day session.  Working at a brisk pace was a skill honed in Limited Jurisdiction where he was given literally minutes prior to the mediation to go over Briefs and prepare and NINETY MINUTES to mediate the matter.   The ability to resolve most of the cases under those conditions gave him the recognition and credibility to launch a private practice which has grown primarily through "word of mouth".

Professional Background

A business owner and licensed CA contractor for 20 years involved with real estate and development as well as large multi-national corporate clients.  Completing the first year of law school was the perfect place to get the basics and start a respectable mediation practice in 2013.

Mediation Experience

Providing mediation services to the courts for over 10 years was not only a great "basic training" for mediating litigated matters it also became the perfect proving ground to hone his skills in unlimited civil matters and the practice is primarily for represented parties and litigated matters.  As a Commercial Mediator the practice primarily consists of Contracts disputes, Real Estate, Construction, Employment and Personal Injury with vast experience and success with numerous insurance carriers.

Mediation Approach & Philosophy

John works at a fast pace and is known for approaching matters in a realistic and straightforward manner that has been very successful. Attorneys, and their clients, appreciate the manner in which his mediation's are conducted, making many repeat clients. John is also know for dealing with difficult clients and never giving up on a case should it not settle. Most mediations are half day sessions. John will sometimes send the parties off with "homework" and continue the mediation through email and phone, or another short session when all the blanks are filled in.

Only about 5% of caseload is non-represented parties.

Complex Case Experience

John has handled many complex cases involving numerous parties & causes of action on difficult matters with great success. Clients include multi-national, multi-billion dollar corporations as well as many business clients from China.

Fees

Fees range from $375.00 - $475.00 per hour with a four hour minimum.
