Description of Practice

I specialize in Divorce and Family Law Mediation. The reason I wanted to start mediating family law matters is to help spouses separate without so much hurt and animosity, not only to themselves, but to their children too.  It is my goal to assist parties in reaching an agreement that works for each of them.  Additionally, I want to help parties save money and time that they face in the litgation process.

Professional Background

I have been a Paralegal for upwards of 17 years.  I did my intern for a firm that specialized in Domestic/Family Law matters.  Throughout the years it seemed that I could not get away from family law.  Every firm I have worked with has handled family law matters in some capacity.  

As I have grown as a paralegal, I have grown in my personal life as well.  I have taken courses on leadership and dispute resolution.  I have completed the training to become a Domestic/ Family Law Mediator. I have always enjoyed helping others and I wanted to do more than what I was as a paralegal.  My goal is to help families Stop the unnecessary trauma they place on their children when they go through the litigation process.   I want to help families reach a negotiated settlement that works for their unique needs.  I understand that what works for one, will not work for all.  I want to help keep costs down for people who are already stretched financially and help them reach a resolution rather than having to wait (sometimes years) on a Court Date.  Every time someone chooses to go to trial rather than mediation, they are essentially placing their future and their children's future in the hands of someone that doesn't know their specific needs and dynamic.

Mediation Experience

-  I have completed 40 hours of Mediation Training, approved by the Alabama Center for Dispute Resolution.
I love helping others and I feel that helping families settle their differences sets them up for a more successful future and keeps the animosity down.

Mediation Approach & Philosophy

As a divorce and family law mediator, I facilitate communication between parties to help them find common ground. I remain impartial, listen to understand, and help parties identify their interest and needs. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where both parties can express themselves freely and help them work towards a solution that works best for the both of them.

Fees

$180.00/hour (minimum of 4 hours) This price includes a 15-minute consult with both sides and 30 minutes to finalize any paperwork that needs to be signed.
