Description of Practice
Collaborative Mediation brings all concerned parties to the table, and by listening and speaking in a comforting atmosphere, collaborative solutions are achieved.
Professional Background
I began my career in Biochemistry Research & Development, working with scientists as an auditor to ensure compliance with Federal Regulations. I expanded my role as a volunteer mediator by earning a Masters of Dispute Resolution (Pepperdine, 2002) and committing to dispute resolution for citizens, businesses, families, and youth in Los Angeles. Currently, I bring science education (chemistry) to high school students in the South Bay.
Mediation Experience
1997-Present: Family and Youth Mediation 2001-Present: Civil Mediation 2003-Present: Online Dispute Mediation (Squaretrade, etc.) 2005-Present: Divorce Mediation
Mediation Approach & Philosophy
My mediation style involves leveling the table so all parties are able to communicate their perspective, concerns, ideas for resolution, and offers to settle. Agreed-upon ground rules and private caucus sessions (with the mediator only) are used as tools used to bring out collaborative and mutually satisfactory solutions.
Representative Cases Handled as a Mediator
Family Conflict--Parent/Child, Economic Issues, Relationship Concerns Divorce Mediation Youth Mediation Civil Cases--Personal Injury, Business/Client; Employee/Employer conflicts
Complex Case Experience
I have mediated several cases (pre-trial) with highly integrated issues and concerns.
